North Carolina Health and Human Services provides a number of services including home delivered meals and caregiver support groups. The Division of Aging and Adult Services offers both congregate-style meals and home delivered meals. Each meal, usually lunch, has a third of the recommended daily dietary allowance. Project C.A.R.E. (Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty) is a dementia-specific program catered to those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or other related illnesses. Project C.A.R.E. offers support including counseling, respite care, support networks, and support groups.
